RMS · Wheel nut retainer

Secure wheel nuts.
Support every call.

RMS combines a visible deterrent, tool-based removal and mutual mechanical locking of wheel nuts. Developed for compatible wheel configurations on ambulances and emergency vehicles, with a robust design intended for long service.

For ambulance services, fire services and specialist vehicle builders.

The function

Four jobs.
One considered design.

From a visible deterrent to mechanical protection, each function has a specific purpose on the vehicle.

01

Make the deterrent visible.

The signal colour makes the secured wheel nuts immediately visible. It sends a clear message against tampering and is intended to deter vandalism at the wheel nuts.

02

Make access more difficult.

The RMS must be removed before accessing the wheel nuts. An additional tool is needed, adding a further step that makes tampering with the nuts underneath more difficult.

An additional removal tool
03

Lock the nuts against rotation.

RMS mechanically locks the wheel nuts against each other to resist rotation. This mutual restraint counters loosening caused by vibration and complements correct wheel installation.

04

Stay in service for longer.

RMS is robust, stays firmly on the wheel and is designed for continued service. Its construction aims to avoid detachment, loss and frequent replacement, supporting reliable function and responsible use of material.

Vehicles & users

For fleets
that people depend on.

The documented RMS versions are intended for compatible Mercedes-Benz Sprinter wheel configurations, including emergency ambulances and patient transport vehicles.

Vehicle name and intended use alone do not determine compatibility. We check the rim, wheel-nut arrangement and axle version for your vehicle. Other vehicle types can be assessed on enquiry.

Ambulance services

RTW & KTW

For compatible Sprinter wheels in ambulance fleets. Users include regional ambulance-service cooperations in Germany and organisations such as the German Red Cross.

Fire services

Emergency vehicles

Fire services also use RMS. For additional emergency and specialist vehicles, the wheel configuration is checked before fitting.

Specialist vehicle builders

Planned into the vehicle.

Specialist ambulance builders purchase RMS across Europe. We work directly with you to agree versions and quantities for vehicle builds and fleet fitting.

The right system

Developed together. Supported in service.

Thank you to RKiSH and Reifendienst DiVito GmbH.

The starting point was an existing safety-related problem, for which we developed RMS. RKiSH and Reifendienst DiVito GmbH provided valuable support throughout this project, connecting technical development with practical application. We would like to express our sincere thanks for this collaboration.

Durability & material

More material.
For a longer service life.

For us, sustainability also means a component that stays on the vehicle, fulfils its purpose and can continue to be used.

Compared with conventional wheel-nut indicators, RMS uses robust mechanical retention. The additional material is a deliberate choice: secure fit and long usability are intended to reduce loss, breakage and the need for replacement. This combines reliability with a product designed for durability.

Useful information

Your questions.
Clear answers.

How does RMS differ from a wheel-nut indicator?

RMS combines a highly visible colour with mutual mechanical restraint of the wheel nuts. Removing it also requires an additional tool. This makes access to the nuts more difficult and counters loosening caused by vibration.

Which vehicles are the RMS versions intended for?

The documented E230-MB22VO and E230-MB22HI versions are intended for compatible Mercedes-Benz Sprinter wheel configurations. We check the wheel and axle configuration before fitting. Other vehicles can be assessed from vehicle details and wheel photographs.

How many retainers are required per vehicle?

The stated vehicle configuration requires two E230-MB22VO front-axle retainers and two E230-MB22HI rear-axle retainers. Pack quantities are 30 units for the front version and 20 units for the rear version.

How is RMS removed for wheel servicing?

Removing RMS requires an additional tool. We agree the appropriate handling and required tool for the particular version with you.

Can RMS continue to be used?

The robust RMS is designed for long use. After removal, its condition and fit should be checked; an undamaged retainer can continue to be used. Damaged parts are replaced.

Does RMS replace prescribed wheel checks?

RMS complements correct wheel installation. The vehicle manufacturer’s prescribed tightening and inspection requirements continue to apply.
